The gear is only for 1984- current Chamberlain manufactured opener. Pre- 1984 is not manufactured anymore. The gear has 32 teeth, outside diameter of 2 3/4" and bore size of 1/2". If you do not lubricate each tooth of the new gear, the new gear can shred within days. If you need assistance in installing gear, please email Sanford and Son?.
