(More customer reviews)I received this item three weeks ago. Installation was easy and the unit worked as specified. I didn't have a problem with any distance, however my garage door is only about 50 feet away from the base unit.

You do have to plug the base unit into a wall outlet and it has a slightly bulky transformer. I didn't know that when I purchased it. I thought both units were battery operated. So you can't just hang the base unit up on a wall in the house somewhere.

Overall I gave it four stars.
